anti-vax update

 I got my latest flu shot yesterday and was happy to do so. (I experienced the flu going into pneumonia a couple of times from 1998 to 2008 and do not want to repeat this).

CNN interviewed a couple of RNs whose reasons for not getting vaccinated struck me a casualty. Their reasons  sounded cobbled together. They were very sincere and upset that very few other "supporters" were getting their shots and were not standing with these anti-vaxers.

We need all the medical personnel we have and to see these highly experienced people shit canned fired for not getting a simple and safe vaccination strikes me as impossible to understand!

I am scared and angry.

During the Trump Administration you were sanguine about bloating the deficit by nearly eight thousand billion dollars. The time has come to start paying this bill. Are you willing to raise taxes on the top 5% and forcing corporations to pay income taxes?

Do you plan on raising the taxes on the middle class including retirees like me?

Perhaps a return to the Income Taxes of Ronald Wilson Reagan for the wealthy people and corporations?

Do not plan on looting Social Security to pay off a small amount of this Federal Deficit. SS is part of the retirement funding my wife and I need to survive.

letter to "My" Senator

 Dear Dr. Marshall,

As an MD I hope you can clear up a question I have.

I've read the covid-19 is spread in liquid droplets from the nose or mouth. Masks serve to block these droplets and thus stop the spread of covid-19. I agree the masks are probably ineffective at stopping particles as small as a virus.

If I am correct then wouldn't wearing "the mask" help stop the Pandemic?

Given the amount of crap we ingest into our bodies, the arguments against the shots seem spurious. (i.e. "You won't put that crap - vaccinations- in my body!") Are you planning on belated PDAs about encouraging the public to get vaccinated?

"Justice" for J6

   First, there was the riot in the Nation's Capitol. Today, is the "Justice for J6" rally. This is based on the premise that many "innocent" people had simply wondered into the Capitol on 6 January 2021 and were later arrested on bogus charge.

This ignores the fact that a number of these "peaceful protestors" were partners with violent people and actually committed crimes.

The folks are gong to rally near the Capitol and will be unarmed and peaceful. They may have been as there is no news regarding them on CNN TV or print. However, a peaceful get together will be couched in terms of "the J6 - January 6 rally - was also peaceful".  It was not.

Seven hundred protestors were expected and the actual count was under 200. There were reportedly more police and media than there were protestors.
