¿casuistry?

I wrote Senator Jerry Moran about the cherry picking of "facts" the White House Attorney presented to the Senate. His story conflicts with the fact based story presented by the House investigations.

This got me so angry that I wrote Jerry an email asking if casuistry - theory and practice - is taught in law school. I also asked if law school students have acting lessons.

I have not gotten a reply.

Expectations of Senate Trial of Donald J. Trump

Expectations of the Senate Trial of El Presidente President Donald J. Trump

Trump forbid his staff to testify to the House. Sure, the House Democrats sued to force testimony and those cases are bogged down in appeals. Some of Trump’s boys came to testify and either said they were under orders from Trump forbidding them to speak or they made smart ass comments. There was one day where a White House staffer was asked a question and told to reply "true, false or sit mute." This person babbled until he had run out the clock on the Democrat asking questions. After several tries, the Democrat have up. The next interrogator asked soft ball questions and got actual answers.

The Trump Stooge should have hit with a Contempt of Congress charge! (This would probably been futile as Attorney General Bart (supposedly) has to investigate and prosecute such matters. That is not likely to happen...)

The other issue was the House subpoenaed documents. These were refused. The worst refusal was the White House lawyers I inventing reasons to deny access to Trump’s Income Tax returns. The law says supposedly that the House demands Income Tax Returns and they get them immediately. The House is suing the White House and has won every appeal the White House has filed. The House should issue Contempt of Congress charges! (This would likely be futile since AG Barr is the one who had to investigate and prosecute and I can not see him doing so.

William Barr, Attorney General, is a Republican Apparatchik!

Then, adding insult to loss of face, one of the Republicans’ told a House Democrat Leader that "you didn't try hard enough". I wonder if that Democrat felt like saying either "well fuck you too" or - better answer! - "How would you have done it?" You can learn from your "enemy" you know.

I think the Democrats should wait out the time it will take to get the Income Tax subpoena before the full Supreme Court and hope those jurists are worthy of their positions and order Trump's Income Tax forms be sent to the House.

Serious question: will these Trump Apparatchiks have the balls to defy the "Full Nine Members of the Supreme Court and refuse to so produce them?

Trump is impeached!

Nothing can change that!

Will the various Senators take their oaths seriously and demand a fair trial or will they refuse to allow witnesses and thus go along with Moscow Mitch killing off the trial and thus "acquitting" "The Donald"? I fear that both Jerry Moran and Pat Roberts might. Roberts could go either way; Roberts is about to retire. I 'd say Jerry Moran is slightly leaning towards not bucking Moscow Mitch or "The Donald" because he wants to do win the next erection err election.

The upcoming week will probably be interesting but probably not have any true surprises...

Interesting quote from "The Twilight Dragon & Other Tales of Annwn: Preludes to The Everwinter Wraith (The Annwn Cycle)"

Hi – I'm reading "The Twilight Dragon & Other Tales of Annwn: Preludes to The Everwinter Wraith (The Annwn Cycle)" by Shawn Speakman and wanted to share this quote with you.

"These were the demonstrative ends of a regime, Aengus thought. This was civilization unrestrained. Without the boot heel upon the neck, law became lawless. And there was nothing he could do about it."

vomito ergo sum (15 January 2020)

I woke up about midnight with sharp indigestion and took a Tums. This did not seem to work so I took another and this one did seem to work.

About an hour later, I woke up with worst heartburn centered just below my breast bone. I took another Tums and this did not work. So, I decided to try that "cure" for those who have eaten very spicy food. I drank 2 cups of milk.

I went back to bed with my stomach rumbling and then felt nauseated. I went to the bathroom and ended up vomiting. This really did not help any.

Kathie said "have you tried Pepto Bismo?"

I said no and went to the bathroom to try some.

We had two unopened bottles and one very old opened bottle. I threw out the opened bottle, and opened one of the new ones. I poured the "pink" into the cup and realized I had not shaken the bottle. So, I poured the "pink" back into the bottle, shook it good and then poured and drank the cap full.
After that, I sat in the living room until the pain level seemed to be going down. Then, I went back to bed and felt better. I slept solid the rest of the night.

I suspect it was something I had eaten for lunch. Kathie told me her stomach had been upset in the late evening as well.

I wrote these remarks in the mid morning and in the late afternoon, I realize I am feeling run down. I had running around to do this afternoon and had to break off and return home about 2:37 PM.
